Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

This movie was adaptation of the book created by Rick Riordan and was all about a teen age boy along with her mother going to a camp lost his mother along the way.  In his journey to save his mom, he was caught in the middle of  the rage of the greek gods and he was blamed to be the thief of the lightning bolt  of Zeus and from there the story goes on.

The movie has a good effects and impact to me , the visuals are great and I was eager to watch the movie since everybody in our office are talking about it but then, I got disappointed when I am watching it. Yes, the truth, the story is quite interesting and children will really enjoy watching it but then if you will look at the other side of it, I would rate the movie setting very poorly.

Would you believe that Zeus was now living at the empire state building and Medusa was living along the road that can be reached by riding a bus. That was very terrible and I don't find it amusing.

Yes, the movie was set in a modern way but i do believe in my opinion that they could have made it far better if they decided to shoot it around the world, not only limited within the country of America.

I think the only good thing about it is the thought that this movie was really  made for kids and I am not a KID anymore! LOL.

Aww, I thought the movie was good. But I agree with you, kids will surely enjoy this movie because of the special effects.

this is a new movie right ria? i guess kinulang sila ng budget that's why they just filmed it in the US. but i think this is a nice enough movie if you want to teach your children about greek mythology.. hindi boring! hehe!

Thank you for a very clear and helpful post. I am definitely a violator of many of these rules. I often find myself conflicted when writing a blog post because I see myself writing more than people want to read, but I feel that I have to do the subject matter justice by thoroughly covering it. I feel that by following some of these rules I end up cutting out important aspects to the discussion. I guess you have to find a balance.
